Beginnings

Storytelling in Grand Genève

Schools, Libraries, & Environmental Organizations

2010: First Tales

After storytelling for organizations including ProNatura (Genève, Année de la Forêt 2010), Action de Carême/Pain Pour le Prochain (Suisse Romande, 2010), and AustFest (Pays de Gex, 2010), there was clearly space for a bilingual storytelling organization in the Grand Genève region.

2011: Le Puits the Story Well Founded

‘Article 5, Actions’ include using storytelling:

– in workshops, & creative writing classes;

– to support national & international organizations’ campaigns;

– to invite public thought about cultural & natural entities (plays, sculptures, soils, weather).

2011-13: Engagements

From 2011, our storytelling interventions included: work in primary schools such as the Ecole Jean D’Arc (GEX; in French), and the Ecole InternationaleLe Châtigneraie FOUNEX; in English). We also visited libraries including the one in our  commune of Cessy, and offered storytelling & art classes locally in Bretigny.

Phase Two

Connecting Literature & the Environment

to Climate Justice Actions

2017: EcoPoetry

We offered a creative writing workshop & brought French ecopoetry to château gardens in Bourg en Bresse, for Les Amies de la Garde.

2019: Songlines of Resurgence

We designed & facilitated an international workshop to explore the potential for poetic song to further equitable climate change adaptation in farming communities in Nepal and Senegal.

2021: Art et Arbres

Supporting les Amies de la Garde, we designed a children’s enchanted story-walk, through their château woodlands in Bourg-en-Bresse.

2022: Séisme

We organized a rehearsed reading of the French version of Duncan Macmillan’s play Lungs at the CERN Globe, to catalyse debate on sustainable consumption.
